Australian World of Warcraft Servers Announced!

Finally.

By Glitch Staff  @GlitchAU

Blizzard just announced the launch of Australian World of Warcraft servers, which will support Oceanic realms and provide Australian and New Zealand players with reduced latency for a smoother, more responsive gameplay experience.

The Australian based servers are expected to be ready in time for the upcoming expansion, Warlords of Draenor on November 13. Servers will be taken offline during scheduled maintenance on Oct 28, with the new servers going online "as soon as possible". Players in the region should not notice any changes to characters, gold or guilds during the switch over and will still be able to communicate and play with US based players as they currently do today.

There will be a free character transfer period for players not currently on an Oceanic realm, available from 6:01PM AEDT Oct 29, 2014 until 6:59PM AEDT Nov 13, 2014.

It's been a long time coming, but we welcome our new servers with open arms!
